1. Aina Mahal

Aina Mahal or “Hall of Mirrors” is the royal palace situated in the heart of the city i.e. near Hamirsar Lake in Bhuj city. The palace was built in the middle of the 18th century by Ramsinh Malam, a master craftsman. A key travel related information is given below.

It was completed in 1879 with a total cost of Rs. 3.1 million rupees.

Hamirsar Lake is the largest man made lake, situated in the center of the city of Bhuj. It is an artificial lake, constructed on the surface area of 28 acres in 1564. The lake was named after Jadeja ruler Rao Hamir, who was the founder of Bhuj. Since the Independence of India, Hamirsar Lake is only 18 times overflowed. There is a tradition that, if lake overflows, royal family does pooja (worship) of the lake. They also distribute megh laddoos to the people of Bhuj

4. The Vijay Vilas Palace

The Vijay Vilas Palace is one of the most beautiful royal palace in Gujarat. It was built in 1929 by Rao Vijayraj ji. It is a well known place for Bollywood film shooting (Hindi film shooting). The Royal Palace has their own private beach which offers private tented accommodation (AC) on rent. The Vijay Vilas Palace has also a beautiful museum, a must to visit place for all tourists.

5. Narayan Sarovar

Narayan Sarovar is one of the most beautiful sites in the district. It is located in the Lakhpat Taluka in the district of Kutch. This lake is considered as one of the holiest lakes by the Hindus. As per the belief, Saraswati River, one of the holiest rivers in India, was flowing from this place (present day Narayan Sarovar). So, this lake was filled with the holy waters of the Saraswati River.
