How to Get to Vaadhoo Island Maldives
By plane and speedboat:
Fly to Male International Airport (MLE): This is the major and busiest airport in the Maldives and has flight connections to major destinations around the world. The Male Airport has direct flights from many destinations in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East with good frequency.
Take a domestic flight to Dharavandhoo Airport (DRV): This is a smaller airport located closer to Vaadhoo Island, Maldives. However, only a handful of airlines fly into DRV, so your options may be limited.
Transfer to Vaadhoo Island by speedboat: From either Male or Dharavandhoo, you can take a beautiful journey of speedboat to Vaadhoo Island. The journey from Male takes approx. 15 minutes, while the journey from Dharavandhoo is even shorter. Speedboat transfers are usually arranged by your resort or hotel by informing them your flight details and asking for the same.
By seaplane:
Take a seaplane directly to Vaadhoo Island: This is the most scenic way to reach Vaadhoo Island, but also the most costly. Seaplanes offer superb views of the atolls and crystal clear waters. Many airlines offer seaplane transfers to Vaadhoo Island, including Maldivian Air and Trans Maldivian Airways with well in advance reservation.
